Gesine Borcherdt is a curator and author for Die Welt, Welt am Sonntag, BLAU International, Art Review, AD Germany, and other major art publications. 

In her writings since 2004, her focus has been on contemporary art, developing a special focus on women artists, international reportages, Italy, as well as architecture and design. Gesine has curated a large number of exhibitions for private foundations, galleries, and non-profit spaces. One of her latest group exhibitions was DREAM BABY DREAM at Haus Mödrath in Kerpen (2020), with artists ranging from Mike Kelley, Karen Kilimnik and Paul McCarthy to Charlemagne Palestine, Wong Ping and Raphaela Vogel. As the artistic director at Capri in Düsseldorf (2015-2019), she curated 24 solo exhibitions with artists like Martin Boyce, Cameron Jamie, KAYA, Maria Loboda, Mike Nelson, and Wong Ping. From 2015 to 2019, she was the senior editor of BLAU art magazine, writing the first big features in German about Lynda Benglis, Huma Bhaba, Alex da Corte, Jon Rafman, Raphaela Vogel, and Annika Yi. 

Gesine lives in Berlin. She ist currently working on the first biography about VALIE EXPORT.
